Advent Door Decorating Competition

Bring faith, creativity, and community spirit together this Advent with the Advent Door Decorating Competition - a fun, meaningful way for classes to prepare for Christmas while exploring key Scripture themes.

Accessible and adaptable, ideal for any teacher, chaplain, or leader to run, this resource encourages whole-class collaboration over several weeks, culminating in a school-wide judging event during the final week of term. With six rich, Scripture-based themes, each class or House can choose a focus that best suits their group, or use the resource annually, rotating themes each year to keep the activity fresh and inspiring.

What's included in each of the 6 theme packs?

1. Advent Powerpoint Presentation -  A ready-to-use slideshow for form tutors to introduce the competition, explore the meaning of Advent, and guide classes through their chosen theme. 

2. Door Title Template -  Printable titles for each theme to display proudly on classroom doors. 

3.  Scripture Reflection Sheet -  Includes the key Scripture verse for each theme with space for pupils to reflect on its meaning and add to their classroom doors. 

4. Action in Advent Activity -  Templates for pupils to write down practical ways they will prepare for Christmas, supported by traffic-light prompts to inspire real-world action. 

5. Creative Calendar Template -  A fun, visual activity where pupils illustrate or write what they’ve learned about their Advent theme.
