Escape Room: Christmas Theme

A classic Escape Room lesson, in which pupils work in groups to solve six different puzzles. Their mission is to help Mary & Joseph escape from Herod and get to Egypt, and the first team to do so, wins! Each puzzle is directly based on a passage from St Luke's Gospel, and includes codebreaking, sudokus, questions & answers, and more. This lesson is designed for KS3 pupils and will take 1 hour to complete (or slightly quicker, depending how quickly pupils work!). 

Resources Include: 

• Fully editable PowerPoint of lesson instructions for the teacher and answer sheet.
• Slides introducing the pupils' mission to them - to help Mary & Joseph escape from Herod and get to Egypt!
• Slide tracker - enabling the class to see how each group is progressing throughout the lesson, adding an extra element of competition.
• 6 puzzles to be completed by pupils: The Stable, Herod's Palace, Judea, Sheep Field, Nazareth and The East.
