Lent Around the World EYFS

Learning Objectives:
1. Lent is marked in different ways around the world.

Resources Include: 
- Fully editable lesson PowerPoint
- Letters - A set of letters from countries around the world to read in whole class sessions.
- Stations of the Cross - Images and reflections for use on a short walk around school.

Opportunities in Provision:
- Carnivale Masks - Mask template to decorate.
- Flower Patterns - Images of flower patterns to use as inspiration.

Religious Education Directory Links:
- Lent is a time to care for others.
- Caring for others in Lent. 
- Simple signs of Lent – colour purple, seeds, growing. 
- Various cultures celebrate Lent and Easter in different ways, for example: pancakes, hot cross buns, Easter eggs. Could include Raasa Parade (Kerala) and other Lent customs around the world.
